Mary A. Maynard is uniquely qualified as a holistic Nurse and a MindBodySpirit medicine practitioner. She has over 20 years of experience in nursing including hospital nursing, health education and over 10 years in private practice in holistic nursing as a specialist in MindBodySpirit medicine. Mary completed her clinical training in Mind-Body Medicine at The Mind-Body Medical Institute at Harvard Medical School under the direction of Herbert Benson MD. She continues to attend trainings at Harvard in Mind-Body Medicine and Spirituality and Healing. She also received her professional training in MindBodySpirit Medicine at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington D.C. under the direction of James Gordon MD. She completed a specialized training as a CancerGuide through the Center for Mind-Body Medicine under James Gordon MD. Mary is certified in Peggy Huddleston’s Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster Mind-Body Techniques. . She is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and is a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner. Mary is an instructor at Red Rocks Community College and Front Range Community College in the Holistic Nursing/ Health Practitioner Programs. She teaches the core curriculum in Holistic Nursing and Holistic Health and she also teaches Psychoneuroimmunology (the science behind mind-body medicine.) She is a founding member of the Healing Buddies Program, a volunteer program that pairs cancer patients with Healing Touch and Reike practitioners. She served on the executive Board and also was a mentor and a Healing Buddy. She is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Healing Touch International, the Institute of Noetic Sciences and International Society for the Study of Subtle Energy Medicine. |
